Seaside Girne (also known as Kyrenia) is a charming coastal town situated on the northern shores of Cyprus. Known for its stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea, medieval architecture, and beautiful harbour, Girne is one of the most popular destinations in Northern Cyprus, otherwise known as the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). The Turkish-speaking northern part of Cyprus is separated from the Greek-speaking south by a border checkpoint, following partition in 1974.
